Strange Science

The original engravings in this exhibit are from an 18th century publication based on a famous “cabinet of curiosities” compiled by Dutch apothecary, Albertus Seba. 

The full title of his work, Locupletissimi rerum naturalium thesauri accurata descriptio or Accurate description of the very rich thesaurus of the principal and rarest natural objects, is more commonly known today as Seba’s Thesaurus.
