Imao Keinen (1845-1924)

Keinen was a Japanese painter and print designer who was part of the shin-hanga, or new prints movement. In 1880 he received a professorship at the Kyoto School of Painting. Two years later he became a member of the Art Committee of the imperial court after publishing an album with extensive bird and flower woodblock prints.
