Pierre Joseph Buchoz (1731-1807)
Buchoz was born in Metz and studied law before becoming a doctor. For a short time he was physician to the King of Poland, but abandoned his appointment to devote more time to natural history. He was an enthusiastic publisher of botanical works, but was criticized for re-issuing his older works as new ones.
