John Nugent Fitch (1840-1927)

Walter Hood Fitch and his nephew, John Nugent Fitch were accomplished botanical artists associated with Kew gardens in London. excelling in the medium of lithography. The elder Fitch was said to have been so skilled as to have drawn directly on the stone for printing without any preparatory drawings. John Nugent Fitch was responsible for the orchid illustrations in the long running and popular Orchid Album.
