Johann Leonhard Frisch (1666-1743)
Johann Frisch was a theologian and naturalist. He began a monumental work on German birds but it became a family project. His sons, Ferdinand and Philipp drew and engraved the plates for the 255 hand-colored illustrations. His grandson completed the work years later.
