Kōno Bairei (1844-1895)
Bairei was a Japanese painter, book illustrator and art teacher. He was a master of kacho-e, or bird and flower painting during the Meiji period. His work also included landscapes with a touch of western realism. His Album of One Hundred Birds was published in 1881.
